Vitalic

Vitalic is the alter ego of Pascal Orbet, a French programmer, multi-instrumentalist who mixes electro, techno and house, as well as elements of classical, rock, Italian disco and electronic music from the 70s.
Pascal Orbet was born in 1976 in Dijon (France). His musical career began to develop in the “nineties”. Pacal Orbe was constantly looking for himself, changing styles of music and pseudonyms. He dabbled in such directions as techno, pop, new rave, disco and punk rock. Thus, he developed his own extraordinary style of performance. Among his creative nicknames are Dima, The Silures, Hustler Pornstar, Vital Ferox. To this day, Pascal uses the pseudonym Vitalic.

In his youth, Pascal Orbe very often traveled to Russia and Ukraine, as he studied at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Even his creative pseudonyms Vitalic and Dima are due to the fact that Pascal likes the sound of these names. Thus, the legend of the techno genius from Borodyanka was born. At the large-scale European festivals “GigoloveParade” (Munich) and “Mayday” (Berlin) it was announced as Vitalic (Ukraine).

Among his first works, the most famous are the disc “Fuckeristic EP” under the pseudonym Dima and the disc “Absolute EP” under the pseudonym Vital Ferox. The last one was created by Pascal together with Al Ferox.

Vitalic became famous all over the world in 2001-2002, when he released his disc “Poney EP” and created a remix of the song “ShariVary” of one project from Detroit called “Numbers of Names”. Both compositions were recorded on the famous German electronic music label International DeeJay Gigolo Records. For 17 years the most successful release of this label is considered to be the same “Poney EP”. It was remastered and re-released in 2006.

Vitalic's first album was released in 2005 under the name "OK Cowboys". He mixed techno, brass bands, 100, 000-volt electric guitars and languid pop songs. Vitalic's constant striving to find itself was forced to lead the disco to the extreme. He finds his strength, exploring all aspects and possibilities of such a thing as metal disco.

Today, Vitalic's work includes about 20 singles and about the same number of remixes of such stars as Bjork, Giorgio Moroder, Daft Punk, Aphex Twin, Basement Jaxx. The most popular of his arsenal of remixes is considered to be the MOBY song “GO”.

For fifteen years, Vitalic has been celebrating techno, using its native French sensibilities, mixing energy and melody to showcase its already recognizable style. Many of these tunes, such as "Poney", "La Rock 01", "My Friend Dario" and "You Prefer Cocaine", have become classics in clubs around the world. Vitalic's creativity blurs the lines between techno, disco, rock and pop. He always wanted to find something more refreshing than a filtered disco house.

We could say that Vitalic discovered French Touch 2.0, masterfully bringing thugs back into fashion and bringing France back to the dance floor map. Vitalic was sparse on genre boundaries. His style is a mixture of irresistible melodies, churning synths and pure energy. Within a few years, French electronics changed direction, avoiding the dancefloors for which they were originally conceived, and began touring the world. There was a revolution - Vitalic opened this way. This was followed by Daft Punk, Justice and Etienne de Crecy.

Today Vitalic is one of the most anticipated headliners of various European techno festivals, rave parties and prestigious discos.
